Politicians are free from surveillance, while every citizen would have their messages scanned due to the criminals (0.2% of the population) whom this proposal is meant to act against. Of course, the whole premise is bogus, as is every other "think of the children" surveillance proposal, and said criminals would naturally find ways around this.
